Cordless drills, grinders, saws, sanders, chargers and battery packs, fixed at the workshop. A dead trigger, worn brushes or a charger that stopped charging is usually a cheap fix on a tool that is otherwise fine.

What we fix on a power tool.
Drills, drivers and impact wrenches
Triggers that stick or do nothing, speed control that surges, a motor that hums but won’t turn. Switches, brushes and the control board are the usual suspects, and all three are replaceable.
Grinders, saws and sanders
Worn brushes, burnt switches, damaged cords and armatures that spark. We replace what failed and check the rest before it goes back under load.
Chargers and battery packs
A charger that blinks and never finishes, a pack that drops out after a minute. We test the cells and the balance board, repair the charger electronics where it makes sense, and tell you honestly when a new pack is the better buy.
Compressors, pressure washers and pumps
The electrical side: pressure switches, motor capacitors, contactors and control boards. A motor that hums and trips the breaker is usually a capacitor, not the motor.
Petrol gear — the electrical side
Mowers, chainsaws, brushcutters and generators: ignition modules, charging coils, starters, regulators and controllers. The engine itself is a small-engine mechanic’s job, and we say so up front.
What we won’t pretend to do
A stripped gearbox or a cracked housing on a budget tool costs more to fix than to replace. We tell you at the free look, and you can leave it with us to recycle if you want.

Walk in Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, at Winnellie. No appointment needed for a drop-off. The charger and battery come with the tool so we can test the whole chain.

We find the fault, price the parts and the labour, and put it in writing. If it is not worth fixing we say so, and there is nothing to pay.
- Fixed and tested under load
Repaired, run under load on the bench, and returned with a note of what was found and done.

Common questions
Is it worth fixing a cheap drill?
Often not, and we say so at the free look. Where it is a brush, a switch or a trigger on a tool you like, the repair is usually well under the price of a new one. A budget tool with a stripped gearbox is a replacement.
Can you rebuild a lithium battery pack?
We test the cells and the balance board first. Replacing a failed balance board is sometimes sensible; a pack where every cell is tired is not, and a genuine replacement pack is the safer buy. We do not fit cells of unknown origin.
Do you fix mowers, chainsaws and generators?
The electrical side: ignition, charging, starting and the controller. Carburettors, compression and the engine itself are a small-engine mechanic’s job, and we will point you to one.
How long does a repair take?
Brushes, switches and cords are usually a day or two once the part is in hand. Board repairs and anything waiting on a part from interstate take longer, and the timing comes with the quote.
Do you fix tools bought anywhere?
Yes. The brand and where it came from do not matter; whether the part is sourceable does, and we find that out at the free look.

Bring the charger and the battery. Half of the “dead drill” jobs are a charger or a pack, and we cannot tell which without both.
The look is free. You get the quote in writing before any chargeable work starts, and you approve the total first.
