Ship Repair Northern Australia

Electronics, electrical and control systems on commercial, government and working vessels, repaired and refitted from Darwin. On the vessel in Darwin Harbour, along the Top End coast by arrangement, and courier-in for anything that can be removed.

Tropical heat, salt air and wet-season storms work marine gear harder than the spec sheet expects, and parts take real time to land. Our default is the repair or refit that keeps the vessel in service, not the cheapest swap.

What we fix

Electronics, electrical, controls and integration.

Marine electronics repair

Plotters, sounders, radar, AIS, VHF and HF diagnosed on board and repaired at the component level on the bench. NMEA 2000 and 0183 backbones fault-found and fixed.

Electrical and power

12V and 24V rewires and rebuilds, battery banks, chargers, isolators, DC-DC and inverters, solar and shore power, galvanic isolation and bonding, all installed for corrosion.

Controls and monitoring

Engine, generator and pump controllers, tank, bilge, fire and alarm monitoring, bridge integration with labelling and documentation, and shore-side monitoring with auditable access.

Refits and survey-ready wiring

Full and partial rewires with as-built drawings, switchboard, helm and panel rebuilds, and installs with the paperwork the surveyor actually wants to see.

On-vessel diagnostics

Intermittent and long-running faults isolated on board. Same-day or scheduled depending on scope.

Courier-in repairs

Removed boards, controllers, displays and chargers land with us, get diagnosed and quoted, then repaired and shipped back with documentation. Usually the fastest path wherever the vessel is.

Obsolete equipment

Reverse engineering and replacement boards for systems whose documentation and manufacturer are long gone. See product design.

Spares and lifecycle

Spares strategy, obsolescence planning, and refit windows planned around the operating schedule. Support plans with real response expectations.

Questions

Common questions

Do you travel outside Darwin?

Yes, for scheduled work along the NT coast and northern Australia where the job justifies it. For most removed equipment, courier-in is faster.

Can you repair a plotter or controller the manufacturer says is end of life?

Often. Component-level repair on the bench, or a replacement board designed here if the original can’t be bought.

Do you do survey work?

We do the installs and documentation surveyors want to see. The survey itself is done by an accredited surveyor.

Which berths do you cover?

East Arm Wharf, Cullen Bay, Frances Bay, Stokes Hill and moorings around Darwin Harbour, plus yards and slipways.

Where we work

Darwin workshop, on-vessel across the north.

Winnellie is a short run from East Arm Wharf, Cullen Bay, Frances Bay and Stokes Hill. We work on vessels berthed in Darwin Harbour and travel for scheduled work across the NT coastline and northern Australia.
