A dish on the roof is the easy part. We do the whole job: the right kit, a mount that survives the wet season, and a tidy cable run. Power for a house, van or boat, and a test before we leave.
We hold dishes, mounts, glands and 12/24V power kits for our own installs, so most jobs take one visit. We install rather than retail; supply-only is by arrangement.

Homes and rural blocks
Roof or pole mount with a clear view of the sky, and cable brought inside through a proper gland. Router placed where the Wi-Fi reaches, with mesh or a wired access point for big houses and sheds.
Caravans, campers and motorhomes
Quick-release roof or ladder mount, cable routed so nothing rubs, and the dish fed from your 12V system through a DC-DC converter. Sized against your battery so you know the hours you’ll get. See caravan wiring.
Boats and marine
Flat mounts for use on the move, rail and pole mounts for at anchor, marine-grade cable and glands, and native DC power from the house bank. Set up alongside the chartplotter and radios so it all shares one tidy install. See marine electrics.
4WDs and work vehicles
Mini and compact kits for touring and remote work: bonnet, roof-rack or bullbar mounts, hardwired to the auxiliary battery with an isolator so it can’t flatten the starter.
Stations, camps and remote sites
Fixed installs where there’s no NBN and 4G is a rumour: solar and battery sizing, a mast to clear the trees, and remote management from Winnellie. Cameras, gates, pumps and controllers can share the link — see security systems and industrial automation.
Business and backup links
Starlink as the main link for a shop or site office, or as automatic failover behind NBN so the EFTPOS keeps working when the street cable doesn’t. Router and firewall set up as part of our business IT work.
Native 12V and 24V power
Standard kits ship expecting mains power. On a van or boat that means an inverter running all night. We fit a DC-DC converter that feeds the dish directly from the battery: less draw, less heat, one less thing to fail.
Cyclone-rated mounting
Darwin roofs are built for 250 km/h gusts. Mounts go into structure, not sheeting, with the right fasteners and sealant. We’ll tell you if a spot is a bad idea.
Cable runs and glands
The Starlink cable has a big plug on the end and every second install we see has a hole in the wall you could post a letter through. We use proper glands and grommets, seal them, and leave the run neat and serviceable.
Plans, activation and handover
Help choosing Residential, Roam or Priority, and the account set up on your phone. A speed test on the day, and a walk-through of the app so “obstructed” never surprises you.
Moving or upgrading an existing Starlink
Already have a dish? We’ll move it to a better spot, replace a mount that’s lifting, convert it to DC, add an Ethernet adapter for a wired network, or fix a cable that’s been chewed or crushed.
Repairs
Damaged cables, dead power supplies and routers that stopped routing come through the electronics workshop. Lightning damage after a storm comes with a report for the insurer — see storm damage.

Remote and rural sites are quoted including travel. Multi-site and business installs by arrangement.
Common questions
Do you keep the hardware in stock?
Standard and Mini kits, common mounts and power gear are held locally for our installs, so most jobs don’t wait on freight. Specialist dishes like the Flat High Performance are ordered in. Supply-only is by arrangement; installing is what we’re set up for.
Which Starlink should I get for a caravan?
For most vans, the Mini: small, runs on DC, router built in, and the Roam plan works anywhere. For maximum speed at a fixed camp, the Standard kit with a DC-DC converter. We’ll ask how you camp before we say which.
Can I use Starlink while the boat or car is moving?
Only with hardware and a plan that allow in-motion use. The Flat High Performance is built for it; the Standard dish isn’t. Tell us what you’re trying to do and we’ll put the right kit on it.
How much power does it use on 12V?
Through a DC-DC converter a Standard dish draws about what a fridge does; a Mini far less. We size it against your battery and solar so you know what a night costs. We fit an isolator if the starter is at risk.
Will it survive a cyclone?
The mount will, if it’s fixed to structure with the right fasteners rather than strapped to a gutter. In a cyclone warning we still recommend taking a removable dish down; we set it up so that takes two minutes.
Can you help with the plan and the account?
Yes. Residential, Roam or Priority, the account created on your phone, and activated on the day so you leave with it working. You own the account; we just get you set up.
We’ve got NBN. Is Starlink still worth it?
As a backup, often yes — a shop that can’t take card payments when the street cable fails loses more than a dish costs. We set it up as automatic failover so nobody has to touch anything.
We’re a station or a camp two hours out. Do you travel?
Yes, quoted with travel included. Send photos and a rough location and we’ll plan the mast, the power and the cabling before we leave Winnellie, so it’s one trip.

Before you book
Send a photo of where it’s going — the roof, the rail, the rack — and for a van or boat, the battery size and voltage. That’s usually enough to quote.
Finding us: we’re the end unit of the 143 Coonawarra Rd complex, on the Mataram St corner. Once your booking is confirmed, bring the van or the boat around to the Mataram St side; the hardstand takes a rig up to 12 m.
