Data Cabling, Networks, VoIP & Linux Migration Darwin

The infrastructure under a business: cabling that’s labelled, Wi-Fi that reaches the yard, phones that ring, servers that are backed up, and a way off expensive subscriptions when you’re ready.

For day-to-day support see business IT support. This page is the build side: new fit-outs, new sites, and rebuilding what’s grown messy.

What we fix

The build side of business IT.

Data cabling

Cat6 and fibre runs for offices, workshops and sheds, patch panels and racks laid out so the next person can read them, and testing on existing runs that nobody trusts.

Wi-Fi that covers the site

Access points placed for concrete, steel and distance, with guest, staff and equipment networks kept apart.

Firewalls, VPN and remote access

Proper firewalls, VLANs and VPN for staff in the field, without opening ports to the internet.

VoIP phone systems

Business phone systems, on-premises or hosted, with SIP trunks, handsets, call routing and voicemail, and the migration off an old PABX.

Servers, email and backups

On-premises and cloud servers, Linux and Windows, mail servers with SPF, DKIM and DMARC done properly, and backups that get tested.

Windows-to-Linux migration

Workstations, servers and mixed domains moved to Linux in stages so operations keep running. Less bloat, faster machines and lower power draw on the same hardware, and no per-seat licence bill.

Open-source and custom software

Open-source alternatives to Microsoft 365, Adobe, QuickBooks and similar, or software we build for you that replaces the subscription outright. See product design.

Websites and hosting

Business websites, booking systems and portals built and hosted on your own domain, with SEO that brings customers in. See website design.

POS, cameras and the rest

Point-of-sale networks segmented properly, CCTV integrated, and the odd equipment that has to be on the network and work.

Questions

Common questions

Can you cable a new office or workshop fit-out?

Yes. Cat6 and fibre, patch panels, racks and Wi-Fi, coordinated with the builder or electrician so it’s done before the walls close.

Is moving to Linux realistic for a normal business?

For most office work, yes, and increasingly so. We do it in stages, keep the applications that have to stay on Windows, and prove each step before the next.

Will we save money on subscriptions?

Usually the per-seat licence bill drops significantly. We’ll show you the numbers for your business before you decide.

Can you move our phones off the old PABX?

Yes. VoIP with your existing numbers ported across, handsets provisioned, and call routing set up the way the business actually answers the phone.

Do you support what you install?

Yes, under support plans or per job. And it’s documented well enough that someone else could.

Where we work

Darwin, Palmerston and the Territory.

Fit-outs and installs across Darwin, the northern suburbs, Palmerston and the rural area, with regional NT work by arrangement.
